Howard Evans spent more than 25 years as an organiser of conferences and exhibitions before becoming one of the foremost trainers in the events sector.  He started into the events business after career as a business journalist with the Financial Times, becoming the overseas events manager for the FT Group. He then started his own company, The Conference Business Ltd, which specialised in organising business and industry conferences in Britain and Europe, working for government agencies, associations, charities and companies.

His company, Conference Training Ltd, offers one-day workshops on the different aspects of event organising. He is also a Lecturer on the University of Greenwich BA Events Management course.
