Martin Avis – Key Account Director, Intercontinental Hotel Group
I’ve over 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, covering Conferences and Events, Business Travel, Event Management, and procurement. I’ve worked in Global Sales as well as on-property so understand what it’s like to organise an event from both a client and a venue point of view.
In the last 7 years at IHG I have managed Corporate Accounts, Meetings Agencies and internal Account Teams (groups of hotels), and before that I’ve worked with Marriott International and Virgin Atlantic. I bring a strategic approach to managing Accounts and SMMPs but my real passion is for exploring Events business, and challenging myself and clients to think differently.
As of January 2016 I’ve been dedicated to the Associations business, solely working with UK-based not-for-profit customers on behalf of IHG’s 5000+ hotels worldwide.
