BVEP/Britain For Events
The UK events industry is currently worth £36bn … Britain for Events aim is to grow it to £40.8bn by 2020.
In an increasingly digital world, events bring communities together – face to face. They share a common belief, a passion or hobby, through a shared industry or as part of a local, national or international community. Events make things happen. They ignite ideas and knowledge. They progress education and understanding. They create and enrich the communities they serve. They bring investment to the country and local communities.
The campaign remains the most inclusive self promotional campaign for the UK events industry and continues to lead the way in creating a more competitive environment for everyone.
None of this would be possible without the support of the Business Visits and Events Partnership, who are a passionate and active partner to the campaign, and the associations that make up the partnership.
The BVEP is “an umbrella organisation representing leading trade and professional organisations, government agencies and other significant influencers in the business visits and events sector.”
Government, universities, health sector and economic development agencies now see business tourism as a key tool for helping to grow our knowledge economy and attract international investors, researchers, media, students and business leaders.
The BVEP exists to:
•Garner cohesive opinion of these stakeholders and to collectively influence and develop the policies, practices and strategies that support and generate growth in the sector.
•Raise sector awareness through clear communications of the social and economic benefits of the business visits and events sector.
It comprises: Conferences, meetings, exhibitions, trade-fairs, incentive travel, corporate hospitality as well as other business, sporting, cultural and festival events.
It represents: 530,000 employees and is worth £36 billion annually.
