ABPCO Excellence Awards 2020

Recognising and celebrating industry best practice in association and not for profit conferences/events

The ABPCO Excellence Awards continue to recognise and celebrate industry best practice in association and not for profit conferences/events. Members have an opportunity to showcase a conference/event, which demonstrates pioneering practices, outstanding event organisation and which has resulted in purposeful and impactful events for their organisation. The event referenced will have taken place between 1st August 2019 and 31st July 2020 as a physical or virtual event.

We are keen to increase the number of submissions, whilst keeping the credibility of the awards, so you will see that we have made a few changes this year.

The PCO awards

The focus of these will be on how your event challenged practice and the impact of the conference

We have added in size categories to the agency and in-house PCO awards;

In-house <500 delegates and >500 delegates

Agency <500 delegates and >500 delegates

The judging will be 50% from the judging panel on the written submission and 50% by peer voting on the day. The submission form can be found here

The Partner Awards

These will be nominated by a member PCO with regard to a new innovation, product or service. The PCO will explain in a short paragraph the contribution/impact the Partner made. We will then allocate ‘recognition’ awards to the best. The submission form can be found here

The Chairmen’s Award

All of the agreed finalists can be evaluated for this award, plus any separate nominations from the Executive. As in previous years this award will recognise the proactive approach many of our members are taking in relation to the ABPCO values; Excellence, Learning and Belonging and the Purpose ‘Proud to enable and promote excellence in association conferences and events’.

Please send your submissions to heatherlishman@abpco.org by 12 noon on the 4th September 2020. The finalists will be announced on the 1st October 2020. We will then pre-record the finalists presentations at convenient times in November, and use the recordings at the virtual event.

We are sure you will be disappointed that we aren’t meeting in person, but we are keen to continue to showcase the excellent work our members are achieving, and hope that this will give us an opportunity to come together as a community.

Any questions please do ask.
