Designing the future of sustainable event training

The role, impact and value of sustainable event training for professionals.

In this conversation, sustainable events expert, Teresa Moore (Director, A Greener Festival) and Clare Hearn (Senior Lecturer, Falmouth University) share the role, impact and value of sustainable event training for professionals.

They explore sustainability challenges and opportunities shared across the events industry, from conferences to festivals, concerts to incentives, exhibitions to sports, and discuss how working together can help us meet common and individual sustainability goals and targets.

They consider the evolution of sustainable event management as a professional practice and how this has been informed by training and education, and why courses and other opportunities in this area increasingly need to address inclusivity and diversity agendas.

Finally, Teresa and Clare will discuss the need for sustainable education and training to acknowledge the value of multiple cultural perspectives and share ways through which the events sector and events professionals can contribute to collaborative global learning on sustainable event design and management informed by inclusive cultural and indigenous principles and wisdoms.

Key Touch Points:

* Key sustainability issues for the events industry

* The role of education and training in professionalising practice

* The need to address inclusivity and diversity agendas

* Developing global collaborative learning informed by local culture and indigenous knowledge and practice
