ICCA have kindly extended the ICCA member rates for their annual conference to ABPCO members - you can register  here 

Wednesday 29th March:

1 pm - 3 pm

Registration, SEC Glasgow

 

Optional tours, choose between

 

The Clydeside Distillery 3pm – 4pm

You are warmly invited to experience the tour of Glasgow's first dedicated Single Malt Whisky distillery in over 100 years. Explore the heritage of the Dockside story and hear how the team handcraft their spirit using traditional methods. The tour includes a chance to taste different single malt whiskies - the true ‘water-of-life’! The Distillery is a short walk from the SEC, meet the tour guide in the Distillery shop at 2.55pm.

 

 

 

Red Bus Bistro City, 2.20pm depart from SEC, return 5pm

Taxis depart SEC to allow the ICCA attendees to join the 3pm Red Bus Bistro tour from the city centre (Shuttle Street). Hop-on board this traditional Routemaster bus for a 90 minute city tour with fizz and afternoon tea included! Taxis will bring the group back to the SEC for about 5pm.

Presented by Shocklogic on “Tech Tools for Time Management” - You work in the events industry. Your job is fast-paced, your to-do lists are endless, your deadlines are tight, and urgent last-minute demands crop up at every turn. In fact, jobs in the meetings sector are consistently listed among the top 5 most stressful careers. This means that good time management skills are essential for us to do our jobs well.  This session will discuss the benefits of effective time management and share various tools and apps that can help you accomplish more in less time, meet deadlines with time to spare, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

 

 

MEET THE FUTURE OF…..ACCESSIBILITY

“How accessibility enhancements increased participation in Belfast”, presented by ICC Belfast and Visit Belfast.  ICC Belfast was able to deliver an exceptional, interactive, accessible conference thanks to the significant expansion of its technical infrastructure and investment in enhancements such as Glisser. This platform complemented a fully accessible summit website and delegate app designed for attendees with sight impairments to access materials easily. Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) was also provided for those with hearing difficulties and a Social Narrative Access video was produced to support attendees in navigating their surroundings.

Future Thinking 2050”, presented by Leeds Beckett University.  A fully interactive workshop using scenarios to imagine a future for MICE industries including ‘Ruling Robots’; ‘Awesome Energy’; ‘Immeasurable Metaverse’; and ‘Retirement Re-worked’.

An interactive debate…..”The house believes that conference legacy is just hot air”.

Working with the debating societies at University of Edinburgh and University of Glasgow, 2 teams will engage 2 teams in this exciting discussion.

University driven session with professors and students giving mini TedTalks about their favourite topics followed by round table discussion.

MEET THE FUTURE OF…….  COMMUNICATION AND ACCESSIBILITY

The Future of Communication and Accessibility – presented by Conference Leeds and Communication Matters.  Presentation regarding the International Augmentative and Alternative Communication conference itself, the work the University of Leeds has done to ensure they are making this conference accessible for all and the work they have done in the city, followed by a short table workshop/discussion regarding what venues/destinations/organisations can do to further this work in their own cities.

DEI & The UN Sustainable Development Goals | Facilitated by Rory Archibald, New Intent

Diversity, equality and inclusion are interlinked with the UN SDGs – a set of guidelines for creating ‘a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet.’ Business events can be a leading industry in implementing DEI and the UN SDGs in all aspects of our work and therefore, be part of the solution to climate change. In this session we will discuss the linkages of DEI & the UN SDGs, what opportunities this presents to us as business events professionals and what benefits this will bring our events, our clients, our workforce and our personal lives.
