Sustainability at the centre of event planning
Putting sustainability at the centre of event planning:COP26 case study
COP26 - The UN Climate Change Conference is one of the highest profile international events being held in the UK during 2021. Being jointly hosted by the UK and Italy, this high profile in person meeting is being held in Glasgow from 1 - 12 November 2021, the aim of which is bringing parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
With these objectives it is essential that sustainability is put at the core of the planning by all parties involved in the organisation and support of this event.
This session will aim to share insights of process and protocols adopted by the planning team involved in the delivery of Blue Zone activities, exploring how sustainability was defined and how this was integrated into the; planning, procurement, delivery and legacy of this event, exploring many of the challenges and how these were addressed.
