We represent over 25,000 members worldwide, supporting them throughout their careers. We shape planning policy, raise professional standards, deliver a wide portfolio of training and events and are the only body in the UK to confer Chartered status to planners, the highest professional qualification.
I graduated with a First Class degree in Event Management in 2014 from Sheffield Hallam University, which included a sandwich year working in Florida at Disney World. This opportunity gave me a wealth of knowledge and experience of how to provide the highest levels of customer service. Having finished my degree wanting to work in the business events sector, and after working at another membership organisation for two years and travelling for one year, I joined the RTPI in July 2017 as the Events Coordinator. I currently work in a team of two to deliver 5 large scale national events, including our flagship convention and an awards ceremony that celebrates the best in the planning industry. We also deliver ad hock events for the Institute, such as working with the government to deliver an event with Theresa May as the keynote speaker. Our events are growing year on year and we’re currently working on an events strategy for the organisation to improve our offering to RTPI members and the wider industry.
