Project Manager – Association & Event Services

SAS Event & Association Management is a privately owned company, founded in 1984 providing full secretariat services for national and international associations as well as the organisation of events throughout the UK, mainland Europe and occasionally further afield.

We are seeking someone to lead on one of our association management accounts and provide support on other association accounts and events, as required. This is a busy, hands on role supporting an international healthcare communications charity in every aspect of its governance, administration and financial management.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the association combined with the very practical aspects of day to day management and administration of the association.

The successful candidate will be asked to:

• manage the needs of a culturally diverse, global membership, working closely with the SAS membership management team

• support a busy volunteer executive board as well as a number of special interest groups

• arrange, attend and record executive, board and annual general meetings

• create and manage the annual budget, working closely with SAS accounts team

• ensure compliance with all matters of governance

• promote the association’s public persona via website, social media and marketing initiatives

• work on development of appropriate win:win affiliations

• work alongside other colleagues at SAS to deliver a profitable and engaging event portfolio for the association

• support the delivery of events and association services to other SAS clients, as required

Profile of Successful Candidate

• confident, smart and personable with the ability to work at all levels of a client organisation

• a team player, comfortable with situational leadership environment

• able to work harmoniously as part of a small team

• able to work to deadlines with excellent organisational, time management and planning skills

• a sound all-round administrator with a good command of both written and spoken English

• a sound number cruncher with the ability to create and manage multi-currency complex budgets

• IT literate and competent in all commonly used business software packages

Whilst not primarily an event management role but the following experience will be an advantage:

• Event management - particularly large international conferences

• Design, build and delivery of virtual events


• Ideally a full time role to start asap

• Office based in Salisbury, Wiltshire with some remote working flexibility

• Salary competitive and commensurate with experience
