This half-day Neurodiversity in Events training gives you practical tools for clear communication, sensory-friendly design, and proactive guest support. Through interactive exercises and real-world strategies, you’ll leave ready to ensure every attendee feels welcome.

It will be run by Welcome Brain, and the morning will be scheduled as follows

9:30 - 10:00 | The Importance of Neurodiversity

  • Why neuroinclusion matters in events and hospitality.
  • Key definitions and terminology.
  • Common myths and misconceptions.
  • Legal responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010.

10:00 - 10:25 | Principles of Neuroinclusive Management

  • Clarity: Clear communication, structured processes.
  • Flexibility: Adapting to different needs.
  • Sensory considerations: Managing noise, lighting, and expectations.
  • Discussion: What makes an event truly accessible?

10:25 - 10:35 | Cognitive Break

10:35 - 11:25 | Case Study and Interactive Exercise Scenario-based discussion on neurodivergent guest experiences.

  • Small group activity: Creating a neuroinclusive action plan.
  • Optional role-play: Supporting guests effectively.

11:25 - 11:35 | Cognitive Break

11:35 - 12:00 | Proactive Management and Conflict Resolution

  • Recognising signs of distress and offering support.
  • De-escalation techniques and adapting responses.
  • Sales team focus: Making booking and sales processes accessible.

12:00 - 12:15 | Action Planning Exercise

Cancellation or postponement of event

In the unlikely circumstance that ABPCO has to cancel the event, we will refund the full cost of any pre-paid registration fees. 

In the event of a postponement, all tickets will automatically be valid for the new date, or transferable to someone else in the same ticket pricing bracket. Refunds will be available if you are unable to make the new event date.

Cancellation of attendance at an event

Please let us know if you cannot attend an ABPCO event as soon as possible by emailing heatherlishman@abpco.org      

Where a fee has been charged, you will be reimbursed as follows:

For cancellations on or prior to 4th October 2025, a 50% refund will be given.

For cancellations received later than the 4th October no refund will be given, but name substitutions can be made at any time.

Name changes

Tickets are transferable: it will be possible to amend the name on your ticket to a colleague within the same ticket pricing bracket at any time.
