Events Management Senior Lecture at the University of Huddersfield. Active members of several industry and research associations. I maintain my research profile and industry experience by completely regular projects, consultancy work and freelance event roles.
Having worked within Events and Hospitality for a number of year in roles ranging from Conference and Banqueting management, to positions at London 2012 Olympics Games, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Glasgow 2018 European Champions within the Events/Spectator Services team. I maintain my industry links in conjunction with my research interests. Since completing my PhD examining the potential major sporting events having at creating social legacies for various communities, my current research focuses on the social impacts of hosting major events from an individual, community and stakeholder perspective, event volunteering and critical event studies.
I fully support the integration of academia and industry links within HE and am the Placement Champion for the Events and Hospitality student at the University of Huddersfield. As a team, we work hard to establish and maintain industry links for networking, training and experience relevant to both our teaching team and our students.
