Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. We are United Against Dementia.
I lead the Conference and Events Team at Alzheimer’s Society. We deliver a portfolio of national, international and regional events to promote our research, services and campaigns; influence and engage with key stakeholders in health, social care, politics and research; promote the voice of people affected by dementia and showcase best practice. Our events range from our own conferences, awards, networking events, gala dinners and exhibitions, to partnerships with third party event organisers and speaking and exhibiting at external conferences and exhibitions.
Also within my remit is the Alzheimer’s Society Roadshow programme of events, with two ‘buses’, an indoor stand and gazebo, which tours England, Wales and Northern Ireland throughout the year visiting high streets, festivals, country shows and other regional and national events with a focus on raising awareness about dementia amongst the general public; providing information, support and advice for anyone affected by dementia; and via our campaigns, promoting the rights of people with dementia.
