The BA in Events Management at Greenwich takes a very broad overview of the events industry, because we know that students have a really diverse set of career plans for their future! In the first year, students get a grounding in all of the fundamentals of the study and management of events, including operations management, the use of technology, marketing and an introduction to the academic study of events, which we were one of the first universities in the UK to teach.

In the second year, the highlight is the Event Production module, where work together to produce a really wide range of events, in venues across London, as well as on campus. Students raise thousands of pounds for charity and also develop their practical skills that make them really employable after they graduate. As well in the second year, they can study modules that allow them to pursue their own interests in, for example, business events, or cultural events and festivals.

In the third year, all students carry out their final year research project, where they carry out independent research into a topic that will make them an expert in their own areas of interest. Alongside this, they develop their knowledge about some of the bigger issues affecting the industry, like gender equality and globalisation, all of which is taught using case studies form the industry and while we help students to really focus on how they plan to develop their careers over the next twenty years.

This course prepares students for a globalised, dynamic industry. It gives them the skills and knowledge they need to be able to work internationally, and with diverse groups of colleagues. As well as developing specialist knowledge about the industry, they will also have the chance to develop practical skills in that will make them attractive to some of the world’s most successful events companies, many of whom are based in London. Our students are in high demand, working on events throughout London while they are studying, and going on to fantastic jobs in events after they graduate.
