Association of Colleges extends relationship with ICC Birmingham for further three years

The Association of Colleges (AoC) has announced it has contracted the ICC Birmingham for a further three years, having celebrated over 20 years of holding its annual conference and exhibition at the venue.

Having hosted the event since 2001, the ICC is set to welcome 1,200 delegates to the conference in November, which is a national voice for further education, sixth form, tertiary and specialist colleges in England.

The event brings together AoC’s national membership base to hear from prominent speakers from within and outside the sector, providing fresh insight, with new opportunities to learn and develop practical solutions to the challenges being faced.

Jordan Whittington, Account Director, Associations at the ICC, said: “We are delighted that the AoC has decided to commit to our venue for another three years.

“We’ve established a strong relationship which has only grown post-pandemic, with the AoC’s events going from strength to strength. We continuously go above and beyond for our customers, so we take great pride in their commitment to us.

“The 2023 conference will take advantage of the Hall 1 auditorium, the venue’s largest space, as well as Hall 3 and Executive Rooms for fringe events.”

Rachel Almeida, Head of Events, Training and Sponsorship at AoC said: “We’re thrilled to renew our relationship for a further three years, with the ICC providing a fantastic space for our delegates.

“As we’re supporting colleges from across the country, they require a venue that is easily accessible, with plentiful space for both our conference and exhibition. The ICC perfectly meets these requirements, also providing enough areas for delegates to move around without us losing that atmosphere and community feel our delegates come here for.

“The ICC’s in-house team delivers year-on-year and is a continuous support, always working to meet our changing needs. We’ve particularly enjoyed working with the team on the event’s sustainability credentials to reduce the conference’s carbon footprint.”

AoC represents and promotes the interests of colleges, and provides members with high-quality professional support services, including training, events and recruitment, representing colleges that transform 2.2 million lives each year.

The 2023 conference and exhibition will be held on 14-15th November.
