Purpose / Role
The Events Partnership Manager, UK will effectively and efficiently identify new business, manage existing clients and cross-sell the UK energy sector events, event management service and partnership opportunities. This role can be based anywhere in the UK with UK travel required. This role will also manage selling of the London office meeting rooms, ensuring EIC members and colleagues can utilise the London office facilities.
Key aims and objectives
• To support UK events team by proactively securing sponsors, partners and exhibitors
• To support our strategic development plan which sets out key targets for growing EIC's Event Solutions service
• To identify, pursue and forge strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders in the energy sector
• To understand the need of our members and their business strategies
• To manage existing clients and develop new business from dedicated sponsors and partners
• To work with the UK events team, ensuring targets and surplus are met
• To constantly generate leads and enquiries
• To prepare proposals and tenders to potential clients which meet their needs and wants
• To build on the success of EIC's Event Management service and continue to promote our bespoke event solutions to suit the client's needs
• To ensure that the London room bookings are utilised by EIC members, and that the booking system runs efficiently and professionally
• To identify cross selling opportunities to other EIC departments
Prime responsibilities and duties
UK Events Partnership Management
• Create, deliver and support a business plan that boosts growth within the UK events team, which identifies key clients, leads and new business to drive surplus
• Work closely with the UK team to support the development of Regional, UK events by securing sponsorship, exhibitors and partners
• Proactively develop and maintain relationships with key contacts within the energy sector
• Understand client needs in the energy market and how our services can support them
• Research industry opportunities where it may be possible to develop existing or new Event Solutions business
• Have an excellent understanding of EIC's Event Solutions service and be able to prepare and present proposals to potential clients
• Schedule regular appointments face to face, telephone and virtual with current and potential clients, ensuring they are aware of all our services, sponsorship opportunities and we are their partner of choice
• Develop the EIC's profile across the UK by attending external networking events and building key stakeholder relationships
• Support the regional Event Managers conduct monthly surplus forecasts, reports and manage the business pipeline
• Utilise LinkedIn and other media channels to communicate with EIC members and the wider energy sector
London Office
• Promote the EIC London office facilities for booking by EIC members
• Work with the Events and Office Coordinator to ensure efficient booking and high quality service provided
• Ensure the facilities are marketed to EIC members and the booking process is communicated to staff
• Retain a good relationship with the finance department to ensure room booking invoices are issued
• Responsibility for EIC London office meeting room income
Marketing
• Plan marketing campaigns for EIC's Event Management service to maximise client interest (including mailers, LinkedIn, twitter posts and the EIC website), and work closely with the Events and Office Coordinator to execute these
• Work with the marketing department and UK team to promote sponsorship and exhibition opportunities at events
• Work with EIC analysts to ensure your energy sector knowledge is up to date and relevant to individual clients
• Communicate to EIC members and the wider energy sector through social media, email marketing, events, telephone and meetings
General
• Ensure a full understanding of all EIC member benefits
• Assist in identifying and recruiting new members, reducing potential resignations and maximising regional participation through EIC events
• Maintain a close working relationship with EIC teams
• Maintaining and sharing a record of engagement via the CRM system
• Carefully manage expenditure, keep accurate financial records and submit monthly expenses on time

Core competencies
Required
• Over 3 years' experience in either business development, relationship management or event management
• Interest and awareness of the whole energy sector, the key players and project structure
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a proven track record and passion for partnerships
• Knowledge or experience of the events industry
• Strong communication skills, including confidence and enthusiasm in engaging with current and potential clients through telephone and face to face meetings, networking and writing proposals and tenders
• Supporting the delivery of successful events through commercial partnerships and sales
• Ability to work on your own initiative, manage workload, produce results and meet deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail (marketing material, proposals, reports, finances, etc)
• Budgetary control – ensuring income and costs are balanced by the level of provision required
• Proven time management skills demonstrated by ability to work effectively under pressure, to prioritise and to deliver to tight deadlines
• Self-starter who is articulate, creative, results driven individual
• Supportive team player that can build relationships with colleagues across several locations
• Ability to act in a professional manner at all times and is consistent with the vision and values of the EIC
• Excellent organisational and administrational skills
• Strong IT Skills – confident use of Microsoft Office packages
• Flexible approach to working hours to meet event and operational requirements
• Professional, well presented and personable, who can confidently engage with members and non-members
Desirable
• A Degree level education
• Knowledge and/or interest in the energy sector
• Experience at selling sponsorship
• Knowledge of CRM systems
• Experience of membership organisation and/or trade association
