Maternity Cover - FTC 12 months
Reporting into the Senior Event Manager, the Event Manager will work within a large operations team both leading and supporting the delivery of conferences and exhibitions across a diverse portfolio of prestigious association client events.
The role includes event planning and logistics; budget, venue and supplier liaison and management; abstract management; exhibition and sponsorship support; attendee enquiries and support and onsite event delivery.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall operational delivery of events that exceed the expectations of our association clients. The role holder will pride themselves on running a professional series of events to an exceptionally high standard.
- Lead the end-to-end management of medium-large scale client events and exhibitions, overseeing venue logistics, staff, and suppliers to ensure exceptional delivery.
- Manage all operational elements, including exhibition (floorplan, features, AV, signage, H&S), conference delivery, setup of registration/abstract sites, and fulfilment of sponsorship packages.
- Manage and reconcile all event budgets, including forecasting, monitoring operational expenditures, managing payment schedules, and reconciliation.
- Produce and maintain detailed event timelines to ensure all projects run to schedule and deadlines are consistently met.
- Source, negotiate, and secure optimal venues and suppliers in compliance with company procurement and relevant regulatory policies (e.g. ABPI).
- Ensure comprehensive event compliance (H&S, risk, privacy) and support continuous improvement through the collation and presentation of post-event feedback and statistics.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria
- Experience of delivering B2B conferences and exhibitions of all formats and sizes for a minimum of 3 years with experience of medical events desirable.
- Meticulous attention to detail, a creative eye and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Experience of setting and managing budgets with overall event P&L responsibility.
- Proven track record in managing client and supplier expectations and developing and maintaining relationships.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills when working with all stakeholders (both internal and external), able to present ideas and results clearly and effectively and to influence decision making.
- Ability to use initiative in challenging circumstances and be solution-oriented.
