Personal Statement

I am Business Development Manager for Abbey Conference and Events, which is a part of the wider Abbey Group. The team is split into conferences - mainly handling association meetings, and events - looking after corporate, sporting and public participation events. The team has 26 full-time staff and is supported by the wider company, consisting of over 250 colleagues with specialisms in tours, accommodation, entertainment and all areas of leisure and business tourism. As a PCO, we can support on all aspects of event planning, from marketing, registrations, staffing, communications, speaker management, sponsorship sales, venue and supplier management, budgeting and logistics. Our experienced team work together with our clients to understand their objectives and deliver on them, measuring our success on their success. Abbey Conference and Events recenty received the IAPCO Excellence in Collaboration Awards for precisely this approach, the prize recognised the impact of the IFIC 2023 event on the association and the local community, which was only achieved through collaboration between various stakeholders.
