Personal Statement
Clare Gallagher is the Founder and Managing Director of the HCUK Group which includes Healthcare Conferences UK Ltd, Social Care Conferences UK and more recently Education Conferences UK.
Healthcare Conferences UK Ltd was founded in 2011. This multi-award winning company organises and produces high quality CPD certified healthcare conferences and exhibitions with a specialist interest in a clinical audience. The company has been the recipient of the ABPCO Excellence award for Best Agency Conference Organiser, 2021 Gold Winner in the Business of the Year Less Than 50 Employees, was a 2022 finalist in both the Conference and Event Awards, and Association of Event Organisers Event of the Year. Clare has recently driven expansion into the education and schools sector setting up Education Conferences UK in July 2022.
Healthcare Conferences UK has trained over 11,000 health and social care professionals in the last year, with the newly formed Education Conferences UK training over 750 delegates in its first 4 months.
Clare is passionate about excellence in conference delivery, improving patient care in the NHS and championing mental health in the workplace. As a working mum with four children Clare works to support and mentor women in business. Clare’s current and past voluntary roles include: Advisory Group Member, National Postgraduate Education Training Board; Editorial Board Member, The Journal of Integrated Care Pathways; Board Member, The European Pathway Association; Vice Chairman, PPI Board, Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust; Editorial Board Member, The Journal of Clinical Risk and Consultant to Patient Concern.
Previously a conference producer, Clare founded Healthcare Conferences UK from her front room in 2011. Clare is passionate about patient care and still works as a conference producer alongside running the company. Clare's aim is to improve patient care, we includes patients in the conference programmes, and offer free places to patients. We run approximately 50 conferences and masterclasses per month and trained over 11,000 health and social care professionals in the last year. We focus on the end result – we ask every delegate “Will this conference ultimately impact on improvements in patient care”. On average 94.2% of delegates attending our conferences in early 2022 said the learning would have a positive impact on patient experience and outcomes.
As a result of teachers attending our events we have recently (july 2022) set up Education Conferences UK which has already established itself as a leader in the education training for teachers and the senior school Leaders. Events have a specialist focus on difficult areas that are generally not well supported - sexual harrassment, abuse, neurodiverse needs, gender identify, anti-racism, safeguarding & mental health. In the first 6 months we have run 48 conferences and masterclasses and feedback has been outstanding. Over 750 delegates have attended our training in the 4 months. 100% of delegates who completed the post event evaluation rated the events highly and would recommend them to a colleague. Our aim was to make a difference to children in education and we believe we are already starting to fulfil this aim.
