Event specialist in the not-for-profit/association sector. I have worked mainly in educational events and have most recently been focusing on elearning and blended activities.
I enjoy the inception to completion element of events and working in associations and not-for-profit organisations is important to me as I am motivated by making a difference to stakeholders through learning and development.
I’ve worked in the event industry for not-for-profit organisations and membership bodies for the last 25 years and am responsible for the strategy and day-to-day operations of the Conference and Programmes function at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR).
I currently manage a team of four event professionals who deliver a range of PLD activities for radiologists and oncologists across the world. We deliver face to face conferences, workshops, soft skills training courses, webinars, eLearning modules and are in the process of developing exam preparation courses overseas and examiner training sessions. The College regards it as important to continue to develop and enhance this offering to ensure that members and Fellows are provided with the high-quality CPD opportunities they need, as well as ensuring that the RCR is the recognised provider of their requirements.
The annual conference is a key area of responsibility, one which has doubled in size in the past 3 years. Attracting over 800 delegates a year, this 3-day flagship event offers lectures, workshops, social activities, networking and an industry exhibition.
Outside of my role at the College I provide artist liaison services for various festivals and live events, am co-chair of my son’s PTA and am undertaking a coaching and mentoring qualification.
