The Royal College of Physicians is the oldest medical college in England and has been organising medical education events for over 500 years. With over 35,000 members, the RCP champions medical professionalism and leadership well as promotes person-centred care. The RCP is largely based in Regent’s Park, London and in the summer of 2020 we will be opening a centre in Liverpool as part of the new Paddington Village development.
I have over 11 years working in events, nearly nine specifically with medical events. Having worked at the Royal Society of Medicine for eight and a half years, in February 2019 I moved to the Royal College of Physicians.
During my time at the RSM I held four roles with my most recent being senior manager for their in house PCO service, RSM professionals for two and a half years. I worked with the team to build a portfolio of events which ran outside of the RSM’s education programme with joint partners or on behalf of clients as their PCO. I was able to develop RSM professionals during my tenure, and in my first year I grew the net profit by over 250% and maintained the net profit figure in my second year.
I joined the RCP as conferences manager with the responsibility of working with the wider team to develop and set up the RCP’s new professional conference organising arm. We will be offering professional event and conference organising services to external organisations and individuals within the healthcare sector. We will work with clients to transform their ideas into concrete, organised and professional events suitable for world-class clinicians. Over the next few years I will be working with the team to build our brand, client base, portfolio and reputation.
