Meet Cambridge Adds Iconic Ray Dolby Centre to its Portfolio

22 October 2025: Businesses can now book conferences, meetings and events at state-of-the-art Ray Dolby Centre through Meet Cambridge, the city’s official conference and events bureau.

The Centre, the new home of the University of Cambridge’s world-renowned Cavendish Laboratory, officially opened in May this year, carrying the legacy of some of history’s most transformative discoveries, including the electron, the neutron, and the double helix structure of DNA. 

Located in the heart of the Cambridge West Innovation District, it offers organisations the unique opportunity to host events in one of the world’s most inspiring environments. Purpose-built as a collaborative research hub, it combines cutting-edge labs with lecture theatres and adaptable event spaces, all crowned by a stunning restaurant with panoramic views.

Named Ray Dolby after the former Cambridge student who brought us surround-sound, the centre is a state of the art facility that pushes the barriers of scientific discovery and a commitment to the future of physics. Spanning across five floors, the Ray Dolby Centre has been tailored to support a diverse array of physics research, including 173 laboratories, lecture halls, learning and collaborative spaces, workshops, cleanrooms and offices.
