Meet In Wales marks St David’s Day with multi-level campaign
25 February 2026
24th February 2026, UK: Meet In Wales is marking St David’s Day this year with a programme of activity designed to underline Wales’s growing international appeal as a business events destination, and the destination’s desire to share its national day with colleagues, partners and stakeholders around the world.
In the days surrounding St David’s Day (1 March), Meet In Wales will roll out a range of initiatives including dedicated digital content featuring colleagues and partners from across the globe sharing their good wishes — in Cymraeg, the Welsh language.
The celebrations also include Wales Week in London - an annual festival celebrating Welsh culture, business, and innovation in the UK’s capital. The week will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, founded to coincide with St David’s Day, and with the aim of ‘turning London red’. The week serves as a showcase for Welsh achievements and promotes connections between Wales and London’s global community.
The team will also use the week as a platform to connect with industry stakeholders, partners and ambassadors while showcasing the unique offer Wales brings to the global events. This will include celebrating Wales’s business events venues, ICC Wales and the Celtic Collection, as they attend International Confex this week.
Meet In Wales will also be participating in an industry roundtable event with Destinations International and their Destinations Professionals Day, a global initiative that recognises the impact events have on communities, economies, and places around the world. Finally, the team will be represented at the 1TourismWorld | 2026 Global Tourism Conference, this time through a specialist session discussing the ‘Destination Organisations Driving Vibrant Economic Growth and Community Vitality’.
“St David’s Day offers us a unique opportunity to not only celebrate our culture but to also share our rich heritage and personality with the rest of the world. We’re extremely proud of our international relationships and connections and love to see our partners across the globe mark the day too,” said Heledd Williams, Head of Business Events, Meet In Wales.
At the heart of the celebrations will be a dedicated ambassador lunch, bringing together ambassadors from across Wales’s prolific business sectors, with international associations based in London, whose interest is in these industrial strengths. The event, which will showcase the best of Welsh catering, will recognise the vital role ambassadors play in championing Wales internationally — from academia and industry to professional associations — and strengthening the pipeline of future conferences and events. The Ambassador Wales programme now has over 100 representatives across these sectors, among those set to attend are Dr Lee Parry (Life Sciences) and Professor Simon Middleburgh (Physical Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics)
Finally, the team is also proud to support the Visit Wales “Random Acts of Welshness” campaign, a nationwide initiative celebrating Welsh culture, language and creativity. As part of its support, Meet In Wales will be encouraging its social media followers and industry partners to share their own Random Acts of Welshness, from listening to Welsh music to making Welsh Cakes, and to share them across the business events community. The campaign has continued to grow in popularity across Wales, both within business and local and national communities. The highly visual campaign will add colour and personality to what is already looking like a genuine celebration of Welshness in the world.
