Nottingham Venues Wins Silver at VisitEngland Awards for Excellence

Nottingham Venues recognised as one of the best business events destinations in the country, taking Silver in the Business Events Venue of the Year category.

Nottingham Venues has been awarded Silver in the Business Events Venue of the Year category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2026, capping a record 12 months for the business.

The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which have been running for more than 35 years, celebrate the very best of England’s tourism industry, recognising organisations that demonstrate outstanding quality, innovation and customer service. Nottingham Venues secured its place on the national stage having progressed from a pool of 369 local winners from across the country.

The winners were announced at a ceremony held at Aerospace Bristol on Wednesday 3 June.

The Silver Award is the latest in a run of recognition for Nottingham Venues. Earlier this year the organisation was named Business Events Venue of the Year and Hotel of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards 2026, while in December 2025 it won the prestigious Venue of the Year award at the Academic Venue Solutions Awards.

Its Conference and Events Team has also been recognised on the national stage, being shortlisted in the Best Conference/Events Team (Venues) category at the 2025 Conference and Events Awards. The success has extended to the venue’s dining offer, with Bramley’s Restaurant receiving its first AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence within months of its re-launch.

Together, the awards reinforce Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s growing reputation as a nationally leading centre for high-quality conferences, meetings and visitor experiences.

Tom Waldron-Lynch, CEO of Nottingham Venues, said: “To be recognised on a national stage alongside some of the very best in the industry is a huge achievement for our team. Awards like this don’t just happen by accident. When you look at the last four years, the amount of work that has gone into shaping Nottingham Venues into what it is today has been unbelievable, with so much effort behind the scenes, from so many people, all pulling in the same direction.

This award is a testament to the passion, dedication and hard work that goes into delivering exceptional experiences for every guest, at every event, every time. I could not be prouder of the whole team. To now be recognised on a national stage like this is fantastic.”

Amanda Pettingill, Chief Campus and Commercial Services Officer at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Venues Board Member, added: “This is a brilliant result for Nottingham Venues and a fitting reward for the team’s consistent commitment to quality and service. National recognition of this kind reflects the strength of our venues, the experience we deliver for guests, and a clear, long-term vision for the business.”

Nottingham Venues was part of a strong cohort of Nottinghamshire finalists, alongside Nottingham Playhouse and the National Justice Museum, highlighting the breadth and quality of the county’s visitor economy.

Operating a collection of leading conference, hotel and event spaces set within the University of Nottingham campus, Nottingham Venues welcomes thousands of delegates and guests each year, supporting both the regional economy and the UK’s wider business events sector.
