ABPCO launches new Member Engagement Committee

ABPCO has created a new Member Engagement Committee to help ensure the Association continues to deliver a valuable, relevant and engaging experience for all its members.

The new Committee will be led by ABPCO co-chair Karen Edwards and former co-chair Pauline Beattie, with representatives from across the different cohorts of ABPCO membership.

The group will report to the ABPCO Executive Committee and work closely with Association staff to understand members' needs and help shape the development of ABPCO's membership proposition.

It will include representation from ABPCO's in-house, association and venues & destinations Member Groups, as well as members from across the wider membership community.

Karen Edwards said: “ABPCO members span the entire association and not-for-profit events sector, from students and those at the beginning of their careers through to highly experienced event professionals and industry leaders.

“We want to make sure everyone can see clear value in being an ABPCO member and gets the opportunities, connections and support that are most relevant to them.

“We also have a strong community of venues, destinations and suppliers in membership, so it’s important that those members and their specific needs are represented too.”

The Member Engagement Committee will also support ABPCO's efforts to grow its membership, helping the Association ensure its proposition is compelling to both existing members and the many event professionals across the sector who are not yet part of the ABPCO community.

Pauline Beattie said: “Our members recognise the value of being part of the ABPCO community, but there are still many event professionals working across the association and not-for-profit events sector who aren’t ABPCO members – yet.

“By continually listening to our members and strengthening the value of membership, we can make sure ABPCO remains relevant and valuable to our existing community while also encouraging more people to join us.

“Ultimately, it’s about making ABPCO the best possible community for professionals working across our sector.”
