New venues and destinations group launched by ABPCO

ABPCO members working for venues and destinations will have access to a new networking group being launched this Autumn.

The ABPCO Venues and Destinations Member Group is an exclusive community, open only to ABPCO Industry Members and Partners.  The group is designed to help professionals working for venues and destinations share ideas, information and support each other.

The group will be co-chaired by Louise Watson from the SEC and Stephanie Mynett from the Birmingham and West Midlands Convention Bureau.  It holds its first meeting at the ABPCO Excellence Awards in Belfast on 11 December.

Louise says the group will create an important channel for venues and destinations active in the association and not-for-profit sector: “ABPCO has established networking groups for its in-house and agency members, so this is a natural extension of that model.

“So many venues and destinations are wrestling with similar issues and challenges so it’ll be great to share ideas in an informal, but secure manner.   I hope to see lots of our members sign up and be part of the group,” added Louise, who also serves on the ABPCO Executive Committee.

Stephanie says the group is a great way for venues and destinations to learn from each other: “Venues and destinations play a vital role in helping associations deliver successful, meaningful events and there is real value in bringing our collective experience together. I’m particularly keen to explore how we can strengthen collaboration between destinations, venues and organisers, share best practice and create more value for the sector.

“This group gives us a dedicated space to build those connections and have honest conversations about the opportunities and challenges facing our industry. I’m looking forward to hearing from members and helping shape a programme that delivers practical value for the community,” adds Stephanie.
