Eastside Rooms welcomes NASUWT for back-to-back November events

The Eastside Rooms is preparing to welcome NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union for two specialist member events in November, continuing a positive relationship between the Birmingham venue and the union’s events team.

Taking place across consecutive weekends, the events will bring together teachers at different stages of their careers to connect, share experiences and discuss issues affecting the profession.

The Young Teachers’ Consultation Conference will take place on 7 November, welcoming delegates to the Eastside Rooms. Attendees will also benefit from overnight accommodation at the adjoining Aloft Birmingham Eastside on 6 November. Under the theme “Your Voice, Your Power: Shaping the Future for Young Teachers”, the programme will explore issues including AI, leadership and building confidence, with a particular focus on encouraging young members to get involved and make their voices heard.

One week later, the venue will host the Supply Teachers’ Seminar on 14 November. Approximately 75 delegates are expected to attend the event, which will include a main meeting space, three breakout rooms and additional AV provision. The seminar will provide an important opportunity for supply teachers to come together and explore the particular challenges they face, including fair pay, employment rights, agency and umbrella company practices. It will also provide opportunities to build skills, share experiences and strengthen networks with other supply teachers.

The two bookings continue an established relationship between NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union and the Eastside Rooms, developed through the venue team’s collaborative approach, flexibility and understanding of the different requirements associated with membership events.

Sammy Connell, Head of Events at NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union, said:  “Delivering a successful event is about much more than finding the right rooms. It requires a venue team that understands what the organiser is trying to achieve and is willing to work flexibly to create the right experience for each group of attendees.”

“We have developed a very positive relationship with the team at the Eastside Rooms. The quality of the venue and its facilities is excellent, but it is the people, their flexibility and their willingness to work collaboratively with us that make such a difference. We are looking forward to returning for both events.”

Ross Hogarth, Director of Revenue at the Eastside Rooms, added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Sammy, the NASUWT team and their members back to the Eastside Rooms for these two important events.  Strong venue relationships are built by listening to organisers, understanding their audiences and adapting the experience around their needs. Although these events are taking place on consecutive weekends, each has its own purpose and requirements. Our flexible spaces, in-house technical support and direct connection with Aloft Birmingham Eastside allow us to bring all those elements together under one roof.

“We are proud of the relationship we have developed with NASUWT – The Teachers’ Union and look forward to helping the team deliver two engaging and inclusive events for its members.”
