ABPCO has announced the appointment of its new Executive Committee at its AGM in London, focused on ‘Going for Growth’.

Former Vice-Chair and MCI UK Managing Director Jennifer Jenkins takes the role of ABPCO Chair, supported by Anthony Hyde, General Manager of Barbican Business Events as Treasurer, replacing ACC Liverpool’s Director of Sales Kerrin MacPhie, who steps down from the committee.

Former Chair Michael Foreman will remain on the board in the newly created role of Head of External Relations, while Martin Jack of Glasgow-based PCO Think Different Events, Mike Lyon of Write Style Communications and Scott Taylor, CEO of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau also remain part of ABPCO’s executive committee.

Newly appointed board members include Niamh Mangan of the Biochemical Society, ACC Liverpool’s National Sales Manager Stephanie McFarlane and TekEvents Director Nicola Crossland. Judith Robinson of Leeds Metropolitan University will retain the role of student representative in 2013.

Commenting on her appointment, Jennifer Jenkins said: “I am delighted to be taking on the mantle of Chair at such an exciting time in the history of ABPCO.

“In 2012 we celebrated 25 years of professionalism in conferencing and events; in 2013 we will be looking to the future, working with our members on helping them to achieve growth, in terms of both business and professional development. We have a strong board, a healthy membership, which continues to grow, and an active calendar of events already planned for this year.”

As part of ABPCO’s new focus, the association has also unveiled its new corporate branding and website, which includes its Conference Cloud listing of venues offering Wi-Fi free of charge to delegates.

The new website will provide information for members, including template documents for PCOs and white papers, and is intended to become a portal for industry information in addition to providing a service to clients looking for PCO support.
